Change of pace

I used to have more done before 530am then I now do in a day, no wait, make that a week.  I’m not a busy person by nature, it was just a way of life for our family.  Three kids, two careers, 74839 loads of laundry a week, extra circulars, community involvement, it didn’t leave…

Rising from the Chemo Coma

3 days of a double dose, 5 rounds of radiation, 2 days of home hydration and a whole lot of love and kindness got me through this week. This afternoon is the first time I’ve really risen since the nauseous set in Monday afternoon. Just a quick post to say. I’m here and coming around….

Daddy’s Turn…

Justin here…aka Daddy 🙋‍♂️  When Jo first set up her blog, she gave me editing privileges, and I just want to say that the love I’ve seen for my incredible wife has been so moving – it has helped us tremendously – with staying positive and knowing how much love and support is out there….

What life is all about

Wow. We had a great weekend.  So much time spent with family ❤️💕❤️ The kids basked in all the snowy glory, Daddy helped build snowmen and a snow fortress, we went out for dinner before the Tree was lit in Paris, the kids enthusiastically counted down and enjoyed the caroling, the house was decorated, we…

And with a snip, it’s gone

Sometime in the hormonal aftermath of having the twins I got many inches cut off my hair.  I needed a change.  But oh my god. Did I hate it.  I cried tears over that haircut.  I looked like a soccer mom.  It was the perfect haircut for my god awful minivan.  It took me three…

I came to play

We spent five hours at the cancer centre today for my 20 minute appointment. Thankfully mom with was with me to pass the time. My Oncologist, who I love, started talking about how some other people would handle this road bump. Dropping one of the two chemo drugs, lessening dose. Talked around it for a…

Reconnecting

The best by-product of this Blog has been reconnecting with so many old friends.  People I have had no real contact with in years or even decades reaching out to send their thoughts, prayers, old stories, and my favourite today a boat load of old pictures (thanks Rach and Dave for breaking monotony of day…

How are you feeling?

Everyone keeps asking how I’m feeling. The answer is pretty easy. Pregnant. I feel like those terrible first few months of pregnancy. I am exhausted all the time and nauseated constantly and the only thing that keeps the sickness at bay is eating. And I mean REALLY eating. Which is super awesome by this girl….

So it begins

My hair has definitely been thinning over the last couple weeks, but it’s still relatively regular.  Today I had my first few clumps come out.  And so it begins. I had plans to get it cut short before it fell out.  I wanted to be adventurous and maybe do a dark bob, or finally attempt…

Merry and Bright: Our 2017 Holiday Card

So. For those who have stumbled here and don’t really know me. I Christmas pretty hard. It’s kinda my jam.  As my family will attest, I’ve been effectively campaigning for a Nov 1* Christmas embrace my entire life.  As much as I hate the commercialization of the very best time of year, it did push…
