So, we have a problem. A pretty big one, a crazy rare, and aggressive cancer. We head to Houston. Seems appropriate.
A couple weeks ago my mom and I had the incredible opportunity to travel to MD Anderson Cancer Centres, one of the best cancer centres in the world located in Houston, Texas where one of the world leading Dr’s on Neuroendocrine Cervical Carcinoma works. My guardian angel made arrangements and set me up with an appointment within days of needing to make a decision about next steps. The world is an incredible place.
It was a whirlwind trip, and I was so fortunate to have my mom with me, which was made even more difficult because her husband had gone through his second surgery in a week the day before!
The roads that take you to the people you meet, the places you go, the connections you meet all interweave in such an incredible way.
Highlights of the trip– delicious mexican food, and getting to take in Galveston with my mom, even if it meant hearing her sing off key the Glen Campbell song of the same name a couple of too many times.
