As summer draws to a close, and the kids settle into their school routines- I can’t help but look back and reflect on the last few months. We’ve been blessed by so much kindess (have I mentioned how much we appreciate all the support from our community– because we really really do!) and have been able to cherish so much time together as family. Although I had some weeks in bed as a result of treatment, and some sad days coming out of the last scan, we’ve been able to make such unbelievable memories. We’ve grown, learned, laughed, and kept ourselves busy. We made the most of most every opportunity.
After a consult with Princess Margaret, we’re waiting to see if any clinical trials (that I qualify for) will become available. Wednesday I’m scheduled for a liver biopsy. As soon as we have all the information and options on the table, we’ll be making a decision on next steps.
But for now, I thought I’d relish a little more in some of the summers highlights (prepare for picture overload!!) I predicted an epic summer, and looking back, we made it happen. Despite pain, exshation, nauseau, fear…. the smiles are true, and pure, and fueled by love.
